Relearning how to cry can be a gradual process. Start by creating a safe and supportive environment where expressing emotions is encouraged. Engaging in activities that promote self-reflection, such as journaling or talking to a therapist, could be helpful. Practicing relaxation techniques like deep breathing or meditation may also help release pent-up emotions and enable crying. Patience and self-compassion are key throughout this journey.

  • There are many people who find it difficult to cry even though it was not caused by discipline because some people keep their feelings inward instead of releasing the need to cry or even show anger; frustration, etc. A person who has been disciplined not to cry will eventually do so in time when there is really something to cry about. It may be as simple as meeting a new mate who is willing to listen to the person's problems and then the flood of tears come. Many men were brought up not to cry because it was seen as a sign of weakness, but now it is very acceptable for men to cry if they are grieving deeply over the loss of a loved one; loss of a job; frustration, etc.
