Strip-cut, or straight-cut shredders slice paper into thin strips. These shredders basically use two interlocking cams that spin and shred paper when it's fed through a small opening at the top of the shredder. These shredded strips can vary in size from 1/2-inch wide to 1/16-inch wide. Strip-cut shredders make fewer cuts than crosscut shredders so they are able to shred more documents at a time than crosscut shredders of the same class.
