Yes! There is even a Biology experiment for that, instead of water, you can try putting the flower in a NON-TOXICdye/ink, watch it in a day or two, it will express that specific colour on its edges. Easy And Fun!

Note, the colouration expressed in experiments like this effects only the flowers of the plant and are best seen using white flowers. Colouration does not extend to the green (chlorophyll rich) portions of the plant. The effects are temporary and do not affect the genetic make up of the plant or flower.
