From solid to liquid it is the 'melting point'.

From liquid to solid it is the 'freezing point'.

For a given substance both the melting point and freezing point are the same temperature. It just depends on the direction of the phase change.

e.g.

Ice to water ; 0 oC

Water to ice ; 0 oC .

What physical change of a solid to a liquid at the melting point?

The physical change of a solid to a liquid at the melting point called melting.

What is temperature at which a substance changes from a solid to liquid?

Melting point.

What do you call the change in a state of matter from a solid to a liquid?

The change in state would be known as melting. Just for your information: Solid to Liquid = Melting Liquid to Gaseous = Boiling Solid to Gaseous = Sublimation Gaseous to Liquid = Condensation Liquid to Solid = Freezing Gaseous to Solid = Deposition

Melting point is the temperature when a changes to a?

Melting point is the temperature at which a solid substance changes to a liquid state. It is sometimes also called the liquefaction point.

How is boiling point and melting point related?

Boiling points and melting points are temperatures at which change of phase occurs to liquids andsolids. Some substances, such as water, have a TRIPLE POINT temperature at which all three phases (solid, liquid, vapor), exist simultaneously.Boiling point of a liquid is the temperature at which its phase changes into vapor and the melting point of a solid is the temperature at which it changes state from solid to liquid. The solid and liquid phase of a substance exist in equilibrium at the melting point. The reverse change from liquid to solid is referred to as the freezing point. The freezing point of a substance is often determined by observing the temperature at which a solid begins to change into a liquid, which is actually the melting point, because a characteristic property of some substances is their ability to supercool.

Is the temperature at which a solid changes to a liquid the solid's boiling point?

No, it is the melting point. Ice changes to water when it melts, not when it boils.
